Every time I lapse in visiting this site, there seems to be a burst of energy and contributions to the groups. Then when I am always visiting, there is nary a peep! Clearly I am active at all the wrong times.
I’m here, Therese. Why don’t you come over and sit on my lap, and we’ll come up with a plan.
A very true observation… Any thoughts on how to make it more active? There could certainly be a few times a day where updates occur (or are recapped in a summary) so as to draw peoples attention around those times in the hopes that the readers simply become more active by circumstance (a passive solution). Alternatively the more active solution would be that there could be a chat room open all the time but with a few scheduled “meeting times” daily for those interested (work-day/evening/late-night; Europe/North America/?). Maybe there could be themes for each session where people discuss experiences and fantasies about certain topics (your stories certainly touch on manh of the Mr. X – clothes shopping dressing rooms, sex shops, walking and talking aloud…). What do you think Mr. X, any idea of who might be able to make something like that happen?!?
I’m always up for improving the site, and hopefully others can chime here with what they’d like to see, what frustrates them, or how they’d like this to evolve. I’ve got limited time, but if there’s a consensus, I’ll do my best to get it done. Also (of course) you can all help out by spreading the word, though I realize that’s sometimes a bit complicated when you’re using aliases – though many of you do Tweet or Facebook with those aliases, I know. Anyway: let’s brainstorm here.
Something I’ve noticed is that there is often a lull after posts–people will respond, maybe there will be a little bit of back and forth, but often posts will die within hours or days. I don’t know how you might be able to keep people responsive and keep them returning but I’d be happy to try and help. Unfortunately it would be difficult to spread the word about this site since I am using a pseudonym.
Does anybody use the RSS feeds in groups, and do they work? Would people like e-mail updates from groups, or would that just further clutter our already cluttered inboxes?
I think that one way to make email updates less obtrusive would be to have one email go out each day (or less frequently) with a sort of summary of events. What could be done that other sites I frequent do is to offer the option to choose how many emails per week the user would be willing to get (assuming one per day), from 1-7 each week, offering the option to stay up to date with everything or only some.
Thanks for the ideas, and I’d love more. I’m working on a way to get group e-mail updates now (if I can), as a start, and as we evolve please keep brainstorming.
