The most recent line that worked for me was used at what I refer to as a “nerdy social event,” although the nerdy social event was over and the venue resumed being what appeared to be an overblown dance club.

A pickup line that didn’t work was when someone hamhandedly walked up to me and asked “Are you on television?” which reminded me of a line from a nerdy webseries that went “Hey, are you a model or a famous actress?” (bonus points if anyone knows which webseries that was from). Not quite understanding what he meant (considering at the previous event, there had been videocameras rolling), I asked “I don’t know, am I?” Poor fellow wandered off confused into the night.

A handsome young gentleman who had also attended the nerdy event indicated in conversation that he was from Canada. My response was to ask him if he was from Vancouver, as many of my friends have indicated that guys from Vancouver tend to be very attractive. He was actually from New Brunswick and that was about all I know about him (other than that he was courteous and conscientious, including in sexual matters).
